South Africa needed five wickets to win the first Test against Sri Lanka in Port Elizabeth on Day 5. But as things transpired, the resistance by the visitors didn't last long. With just an hour's play, Sri Lanka were dismissed for 281 runs as the Proteas sealed a 206 run win to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Sri Lanka were once again undone by the seam attack in the morning session. In the entire Test, Kyle Abbott and Vernon Philander bowled well with Kagiso Rabada doing better in the second innings. Keshav Maharaj also chipped in with three wickets – including the last – in the second essay.
