Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud held official talks session at Al-Yamamah Palace here yesterday with President Xi Jinping of China. At the outset of the session, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques delivered a speech in which he welcomed President Xi and the accompanying delegation, describing the friendly relations between the two countries as witnessing a steady growth during the past 25 years. "I recall my visit to your friendly country in March 2014. During that visit, we held fruitful meetings that were reflected on joint cooperation in various fields. Your Excellency's visit yesterday enhances this cooperation and friendship between the two countries and peoples," the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques said. "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and China are seeking together for stability and promoting peace and security in the world. We appreciate Your Excellency's efforts in this regard, King Salman said. The challenges facing the world, particularly terrorism, require the international community to unite in countering it. The international community should emphasize the principles established by the Charter of the United Nations, particularly the non-interference in the internal affairs of States as well as the respect of their sovereignty so that security and peace prevail among States, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques said. "I am confident that our discussions yesterday will be in the interest of our two countries, and will enhance efforts being made to bring peace to the region," King Salman said. For his part, the Chinese President expressed thanks for the warm reception and hospitality, stressing China's keenness on strengthening the partnership between the two countries in addition to continuing the development of bilateral relations. He also commended the measures taken by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to stimulate the development in the Kingdom. Then, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and aspects of cooperation between the two countries and the latest developments at the regional and international arenas. With presence of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and President XI Jinping of the People's Republic of China, 14 agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed between the governments of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the People's Republic of China. Before signing ceremony of agreements and memoranda of understanding, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques decorated the President of China with King Abdulaziz Necklace which is the highest and most prestigious medal in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Then, agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two ceremonies were signed as follows: First: a memorandum of understanding between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of China on strengthening mutual cooperation in field of the Silk Road Economic Belt and initiative of the maritime silk road for the 21st century and cooperation in the field of productive capacity was signed by Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Economic and Development Affairs Council and Chairman of National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China (NDRC) Xu Shaoshi. Second: a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of science and technology was signed by Prince Dr. Turki bin Saud bin Mohammed, President of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. Third: a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of satellite navigation was signed by the Prince Dr. Turki bin Saud bin Mohammed, President of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, and Chairman of Satellite Navigation Office in China Ran Chen Chi. Fourth: a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in promotion of development of information Silk Road for informational connection between the Saudi Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China (NDRC) was signed by Dr. Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Suwaiyel, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Chairman of National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China (NDRC) Xu Shaoshi. Fifth: an agreement of loan in favor of environmental development project for the regions inhabited by Hui nationalism in Shaanxi province. Sixth: a loan agreement for the project of protection of much humid territories and development of Hewanqe Lake, in Anhui province was signed Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf, Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Saudi Fund for Development, and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. Seventh: a memorandum of understanding on establishment of a mechanism for consultations on combating terrorism was signed by Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. Eighth: a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the industrial field was signed by Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, Minister of Commerce and Industry, and Chinese Minister of Commerce Gao Hu Chen. Ninth: a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of renewable energy between King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy and Management of National Power in the People's Republic of China was signed by Dr. Hashim bin Abdullah Yamani, President of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy, and Head of Chinese National Energy Commission Nur Bekri. Tenth: a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in building a nuclear reactor with a high-temperature coolant gas was signed by Dr. Hashim bin Abdullah Yamani, President of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Chinese Nuclear Engineering Company Wang Shu Jin. Eleventh: a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of research and development between Saudi Aramco and Development Research Center of the Council of Government of the People's Republic of China was signed by Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Faleh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saudi Aramco and Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Lee Chang Wen. Twelfth: framework agreement for strategic cooperation between the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Aramco) and China National Petrochemical Company (SINOPEC) was signed by Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Faleh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saudi Aramco, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chinese National Petrochemical Company Wang Yu Bo. Thirteenth: a memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation for the development of industrial investments and local content was signed by Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Faleh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saudi Aramco, and Director of Iuchan Company for Investment in China Wan Geo Ben. Fourteenth: a memorandum of understanding between the General Commission for Tourism and National Heritage and Management of Cultural Heritage in the People's Republic of China for cooperation and exchange of knowledge in the field of cultural heritage was signed Dr. Ali Ibrahim Al-Ghabban, Vice President of the Saudi General Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, and Chairman of the National Commission for Antiquities in China Liu Yu Jao. The session of talks and signing ceremony of agreements were attended by a number of princes and ministers and the accompanying delegation of the Chinese President.
