UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed firmly denounced attacks on the Saudi diplomatic mission in Iran, stressing categorical rejection of Iranian interferences in the Arab internal affairs. This came in his speech before the opening session of the extraordinary meeting of the Arab League Council at the level of the foreign ministers. Sheikh Abdullah stressed firm stand by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all deterrent measures in combating terrorism and extremism. He added that this meeting came in light of dangerous escalation carried out by Iran representing in brutal attacks on the Saudi diplomatic mission in Iran under eyes of the Iranian security authorities and government despite of the Kingdom's calls in accordance with the international law and diplomatic norms. The UAE foreign minister stressed that all measures taken by the Kingdom confirm its clear and constant stance in combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. 'Regarding implementation of the legitimate rulings towards convicts, this is a sovereign right for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia within its judiciary system. No state or individual has a right to interfere in the Kingdom's internal affairs,' Sheikh Abdullah said. 'Despite enormous challenges and risks facing the Arab region, particularly terrorism, extremism and chaos, we are facing other threats. This threat is Iran,' he added. The UAE foreign minister called upon all Arab countries to take a clear stance stopping Iran from continuing to interfere in the affairs of the region. For his part, Secretary General of the Arab League Dr. Nabil Al-Arabi called to take Arab collective stance aiming to halt Iranian interferences in the Arab internal affairs. In his speech, Al-Arabi stressed Arab full support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's proceedings in order to maintain security and sovereignty. He confirmed that this meeting reflected the Arab solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and condemnation of attacks on the Saudi embassy in Tehran and consulate in Mashhad.
