The General Secretariat of the Council of Senior Scholars has confirmed the great stature of Al-Quds and the holy Al-Aqsa mosque in the Islamic religion, in addition to its significant status in the hearts of all Muslims in the East and the West. It said that what has been done by the brute occupation forces accompanied by plunders and extremists to storm and desecrate Al-Aqsa mosque as well as close its gates and assault worshipers inside its yards are a violation of the sanctity of Al-Aqsa mosque, a provocation to the feelings of Muslims and a flagrant violation of the most basic human rights advocated by the international community with its states and institutions. Further, the General Secretariat of the Council of Senior Scholars made clear that the crimes of the occupation forces should urge Muslims, governments and peoples to stand with their Palestinian brothers, cooperate with them, support and help them, and seek to prevent the Jews from continuing their aggression and attacks on Al-Aqsa mosque and put an end to the unjust occupation. It recommended the people of Palestine who are in Jihad (holy war) and defense of the sanctities of Muslims in Palestine, to fear Allah Almighty, adhere to unity and renounce division and conflict to foil the attempts of the enemy who has exploited them by launching more assaults. The Council of Senior Scholars called upon the international community to look at terrorism as one perspective and not to use double standards, since what is being carried out by the occupation forces in Palestine of confiscating the rights of the Palestinian people, ongoing violation of the sanctity of Islamic holy sites and practicing apartheid is considered a State terrorism, which is more dangerous than any terrorism due to the State's potentials and capabilities.
