The Royal Court has said in a statement that 'Given the current situation in the Republic of Yemen; and in response to a request of the legitimate government of Yemen - represented by Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi - to stand by the Yemeni government and people; and in extension of the stances of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with Yemen's government and people; and in order to alleviate the burden on the people of the Republic of Yemen, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz has directed the Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior to take necessary procedures to correct the residence status of Yemeni expatriates who were illegally residing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia before 20/06/1436H. They shall be granted a six-month visit visa that may be extended upon receiving travel documents from their country's legitimate government. They shall be allowed to work in accordance with regulations set by the competent authorities. This procedure shall be effective for two months as of the date of residence status correction.'
