The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh on Monday afternoon. At the outset of the session, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques briefed the Cabinet on the results of his talks, meetings, consultations, messages and communications held with the leaders of brotherly and friendly countries, during which they reviewed the bilateral relations and the overall situations at the regional and international arenas, and in which various countries have expressed their support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Determination Storm Operation and their readiness to provide all kinds of support that the Kingdom may need whenever it is requested. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques expressed in this context his thanks and appreciation to the countries participating in the Determination Storm Operation and countries supporting this operation all over the world, which will contribute to supporting peace and security in the region and the world, reaffirming that the Kingdom is open to all Yemeni political strata wishing to maintain Yemen's security and stability to meet under the umbrella of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States in the framework of adhering to the legitimacy, refusing the coup against it, and ensuring the return of the state to extend its authority over all Yemeni territories, the return of the arms to the state, and non-threatening of the security of neighboring states. The Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Adel bin Zaid Altoraifi said in a statement to Saudi Press Agency following the session that the Cabinet expressed its thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the wise decision taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the brotherly and friendly countries participating in the Determination Storm Operation in response to the request of President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi of the Republic of Yemen to protect Yemen and its people from the aggression of Houthi militias supported by regional powers aiming to spread their hegemony over Yemen and make it a base for their influence in the region, as well as the President's request to help Yemen in the face of terrorist organizations. The minister said that then, the council of ministers continued reviewing a number of reports on the evolution of events in the region and the world valuing in this regard Sharm el-Sheikh Declaration and the decisions of the Arab Summit Conference at its twenty sixth session and their contents which fully welcome and support procedures carried out by the coalition for the defense and protection of the legitimacy in Yemen and defense of the brotherly Yemeni people who are exposed to seizure of their land, destruction of properties and destabilization by the Houthi militias and the summit's resulting decisions on various issues of concern to the Arab nation, commending the efforts by the Arab Republic of Egypt's government and people under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to host the summit and efforts to make it a success. On the other hand, the Council of Ministers condemned the continued Israeli violations against the unarmed Palestinian people, reiterating the Kingdom's demands of the international community to put pressure on Israel and forcing it to implement resolutions of international legitimacy for the establishment of the independent Palestinian state on its territories occupied since 1967 and confirmed that the Israeli Prime Minister's statements and pledges denying the establishment of the Palestinian state in his reign constitute a flagrant challenge to international will, the principles of legitimacy and resolutions and agreements in this regard requiring the international community to fulfill its responsibilities towards these aggressive policies, restore the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and establish their independent and viable state. Dr. Adel bin Zaid Al-Toraifi said that the cabinet was briefed on items on its agenda and took the following: First: The cabinet approved the adoption of the final accounts of the Saudi Wildlife Commission and the Electricity and Cogeneration Regulatory Authority for fiscal year 1434/1435 H. Second: After reviewing what has been submitted by the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and President of the Saudi Geological Survey, the Cabinet decided the following: 1 - Renewal of the membership of Dr. Mohammed bin Isa Al-Dabbagh and Dr. Mohammed bin Hussein Bassiouni in the Survey's Board of Directors for three years. 2 - Appointment of Ali bin Hamad bin Ali Al Mubarak, as a member of the specialists in the Survey's Board of Directors for three years. Third: After reviewing the report submitted by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and after the consideration of Majlis Al-Shura's Resolution No. (11/8) dated 26/01/2015. The Cabinet decided as follows: 1 - Approval of amendments to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)'s Charter and Convention . A royal decree has been prepared for this purpose. 2 - Authorizing the Minister of Foreign Affairs to sign the instrument approval model of the final documents of the Plenipotentiary Conference, which was held in Mexico in 2010, and to deposit it with the ITU Secretary General. Fourth: The Cabinet approved authorizing the Minister of Education - or his deputy - to sign a draft memorandum of cooperation in the field of higher education and scientific research between the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the General Secretariat of Education in the Mexican United States, and submit the final signed version, to complete the statutory procedures. Fifth: The cabinet authorized the President of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy - or his deputy - to discuss with the Finnish side and the Hungarian side draft agreements between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Governments of the Republics of Finland and Hungary in the field of peaceful uses of atomic energy, sign them, and then submit the final signed versions to complete the statutory procedures. Sixth: The cabinet approved a number of appointments as follows: 1- Abdullah bin Abid bin Abdullah Al-Harthy is appointed to the job of Administrative Advisor (rank 15) at the Ministry of Education. 2- Abdulilah bin Mohammed bin Abdullah al-Shuaibi is appointed to the job of Minister Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 3- Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Ali Shablan is appointed to the job of Minister Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 4- Salah bin Abdullah bin Sardi Mriqib is appointed to the job of Minister Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 5- Abdulrahman bin Said bin Mohammed Aljomaah is appointed to the job of Minister Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The cabinet also reviewed two annual reports of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology for the fiscal year 1433/1434 H. and issued relevant directives about them.
