The value of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's non-oil commodity exports in January amounted to SR (15,635) million, down by (9.10 %) compared to the same period of 2014, while imports amounted to SR (47,513) million, down by ( 4.72 %) compared to the same period of 2014. The Central Department of Statistics and Information (CDSI) said in its report to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) that plastics and rubber products topped the list of non-oil commodity exports during the month of January by 31.70% amounting to SR 4,956 million, followed by chemical industry products by 31.12 % amounting to SR 4,865 million, and transport equipment products by 11.12 % amounting to SR 1,739 million. According to the report, the value of the Kingdom's imports of machinery, equipment, and electrical appliances increased by 27.79 % amounting to SR 13,202 million; transport equipment by 19.82 % amounting to SR 9,417 million; and ordinary metals and their products by 11.30 % amounting to SR 5,367 million. The United Arab Emirates ranked first in terms of the value of non-oil commodity exports by 14.94 %, followed by the People's Republic of China by 11.10%, and Singapore by 6.37 %; while the People's Republic of China topped the list of countries importing non-oil commodities by 15.79 %, the United States of America came in the second place by 14.48 %, and Germany, the third by 6.15 %.
