The value of non-commodity exports of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for December 2014 registered a decrease of 17.16% to reach SR 16,745 million, compared to the same period of 2013, as imports fell by 0.02% to SR 52,430 million, from the same period 2013, while the rate of non-oil exports was 31.94% of the total value of imports during this period. The monthly report issued by the Central Department of Statistics and Information (CDSI) indicated that the exports of plastics and rubber and their products ranked first at a value of SR 5515 million by 32.94% of the total value of non-petroleum commodity exports, and the chemical industry's products and related derivatives ranked second at a value of SR 5042 million by 30.11%, while the transport equipment and parts thereof came in third place with a value of SR 2350 million by 14.03% of the total value of exports. On the other hand, the sector of machinery, equipment, electrical appliances and parts thereof came in first place for the highest value in terms of the Kingdom's imports amounted to SR 14023 million by 26.75% of total imports, followed by transport equipment and parts thereof at a value of SR 10188 million by 19.43%, and in third place came the sector of ordinary metals and their products at a value of SR 6029 million by 11.50 %. At the level of the exporting countries, China ranked first in terms of the value of non-oil commodity exports by 13.73% of the total value of exports, followed by Singapore by 9.67%, and the United Arab Emirates in the third place by 8.47%. In terms of imports, China also ranked first by 15.12% of total imports and followed by the United States of America by 12.58%, then Germany by 6.91%.
