Every public opinion poll in Israel shows that there is a clear majority against peace with the Palestinians, and even against the Oslo Accords, as the majority of Israelis see it as a threat to Israel. In parallel with this majority, there is consensus in the Israeli government over rejecting peace with the Palestinians, unless the latter agree to hand over their country to the invaders and occupiers and leave. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas agreed to new peace negotiations after U.S. blackmail and complete Arab absence. The Obama administration does indeed want to achieve peace between the Palestinians and Israel, something that every U.S. administration since the days of Truman and Eisenhower failed to accomplish. Personally, I have no doubt in the honesty of the intentions of President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, and Secretary of State John Kerry, but good intentions alone cannot make peace, and the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Then there is the government of Israel, the last remaining neo-Nazi government, implementing overt racial segregation (apartheid) against the native population. This government also includes in its ranks a record number of war criminals and extremists, immigrants, and supporters of settlement building. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the head of a criminal gang rather than a government, wants to gain from the negotiations U.S. support against Iran, and European silence over settlement activity. He also wants the support of the interim administration in Egypt, believing that dealing with the Egyptian military will be easier than dealing with the Muslim Brotherhood – this while bearing in mind that the Brotherhood sacrificed their principles for the sake of power, and the only good ties they maintained were with Israel and America. By contrast, the interim administration has the protection of the army, and enjoys strong relations with the Arab countries that are able to help Egypt. The administration also has the freedom of decision, and if the rulers of Egypt decide to suspend the peace treaty with Israel, half of the Muslim Brotherhood along with the rest of the Arabs would join forces with them. What has the government of Israel done to support the peace process? It announced its intention to build 1,200 new settlement units in the West Bank and Arab Jerusalem, or East Jerusalem, or the only Jerusalem, in addition to the 878 housing units announced a few days ago. Two days ago, Israel killed three Palestinians defending their homes in Qalandiya. John Kerry visited the region six times, and made hundreds of phone calls, so that the Palestinians and Israelis would sit at the negotiating table. But Israel rewarded him by breaking the legs of the table. The Israeli government had the gall to publish settlement figures like 400 housing units in Gilo, 210 in Har Homa, and 183 in Pisgat Zeev, and these are all inside the Green Zone in Arab Jerusalem, and I have the rest in the West Bank by the number. I read in the Israeli press that the number of settlers in the West Bank grew by 2.12 percent over the past six months, with the growth forecasted to be even bigger by the end of the year. What will Mahmoud Abbas negotiate over? The Likudnik media is more candid than the government of Israeli war criminals. I read: - "Palestinians Build A Settlement." The article references the idea of a new Palestinian city in the West Bank, and I say that even if the Palestinians build in Tel Aviv, it would not be a settlement, because the entire country belongs to them. - "A ‘Peace Process' Where One Side Does All The Giving." But I insist that the Palestinians are making all the giving, as the entire land belongs to them and Israel is a usurping occupation state. - "Murderers' Release Is Least Of The Problems." The Likudnik gang means by this the captive Palestinian freedom fighters. The truth is that every member of the Israeli government, the Israeli army, and the Israeli settlers is a murdering terrorist. - "What Terrorists Want," and also "Meet the Terrorists: No Good Will In Sight." I reiterate the above about the real terrorists who are occupying a country, killing, and destroying. I also add that the Palestinians are victims in their country. Once again, why is Mahmoud Abbas negotiating when all of Palestine is under occupation, and the fascist Israeli government does not want to give its native people even 22 percent of the land? I expect a third intifada to erupt, as there is no other logical solution left for the Palestinians.
