Before the film that insulted the Muslim Prophet and after, and in the future, Israel continues to project accusations against it on others. The clearest example of this is that Israel is a terrorist state, and yet it accuses Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah and all other resistance and liberation groups of terrorism. Hence, a criminal gang occupying Palestine, killing and destroying, claims that resisting the occupation is terrorism. According to the details made available every day, or the material I come to collect by virtue of my work, Israeli extremists have assaulted a monastery at Latrun near Jerusalem, writing anti-Christian slogans on the walls, and destroying whatever they could reach of its contents. Meanwhile, three Israeli youths were arrested after firebombing a Palestinian taxi, a Palestinian adolescent was hospitalized after he lost consciousness, following an assault by three Israeli children. According to the news as well, the Israeli schools want to confront the climate of hate in which youths grow up in Israel. The Israeli army even admitted to regularly assaulting Palestinians at army checkpoints. How does Israel respond to hide its daily crimes, which reflect the racism of the regime? I read a headline that said Ramadan is Islam's Holy Month of Christian Oppression, and claims that the Copts in Egypt are subjected to collective punishment, and that a mob of Muslims attacked an Israeli village. Of course, Ramadan and every month of the Hijri calendar is not a month of Christian oppression. The alleged village is a settlement, like of all Israel, and the natives of the land want to drive the occupiers out (I have the original sources of all the information mentioned in this column.) More importantly, the Jewish religion is made up. The Jewish prophets are myths from the Torah who never existed in reality. Meanwhile, Islam is a correct religion that was revealed in history's full sight. For this reason, we see books like “Did Muhammad Exist?"- that is, “was he a real person?"- written by a professional Likudnik American called Robert Spencer. Similarly, there was a documentary carried by UK's Channel 4, based on the book “Islam: The Untold Story" by historian Tom Holland, which also revisits the assumption that Islam was born in the full light of history, and questions the widely-held historical views on Islam, its prophet and the revelation. Once again, I say that Islam, its prophet, the conquests and the wars of apostasy were factual history recorded when they happened, while Christianity evolved as a religion over a few decades after Christ. But the only made up religion is the one professed by the Jews. Its scriptures were written 500 to 1,000 years after the events had happened. While many of the Jewish prophets were mentioned in the Quran, I consider this to be a coincidence. To be sure, and according to what I studied at two U.S. universities, there are no antiquities whatsoever in the Middle East that corroborate the myths of the Hebrew Bible, and no traces whatsoever of Jewish kingdoms or the Temple of Solomon in Palestine. There were Jewish people throughout the entire region, but they were clans, tribes and families, not kingdoms or kings. I hope that my Muslim readers will understand that I am a student of history – and I am not writing about religion. I can cite historical information that would surprise the Egyptian reader, after the Palestinian. But I prefer to move on from religiously sensitive material and limit myself to history. I reiterate therefore that the Jewish religion is invented, and it is for this reason that we see how some project the accusation against them unto others, so that the debate would involve Islam rather than Judaism. In the most recent offensive film, or the excerpt of it that was shown, there were personal attacks on the Prophet. This too is a way of projecting accusations on others. Indeed, the Torah contains explicit – and possibly false – sexual stories, and the story of Lot's daughters and their octogenarian father in the Torah is too scandalous for me to reproduce here for the readers. Then there is the story of Joshua, who sent two spies to the house of the harlot Rahab in Jericho. Jericho and its walls fell after the sounding of trumpets and shouts (according to the literal text of the Torah). David, also according to Jewish scriptures, sent the soldier Uriah the Hittite to his death at the front to have his wife Bathsheba (Yitzhak Rabin in his first tenure in the early eighties alluded to this recent story at the Knesset). The above is a drop in the sea of the Torah, and I have euphemized and summarized where possible, so I can have it published in a family newspaper, and there are worse things in the Talmud. They project their flaws on us, and we lose our temper and respond in a way that harms us and benefits them. [email protected]
