Copies of the Koran were incinerated in an American base in Afghanistan, which sparked the disgruntlement of Muslims around the world and the wrath of the Afghans in particular. So far, six American soldiers and thirty Afghans have been killed and dozens wounded. On the other hand, an American soldier killed 16 Afghan civilians, including nine children, and the response is inevitably coming. To each action, there is a reaction. And when offenses are committed against the Islamic religion, its Prophet and the Holy Koran, there is one reaction, i.e. the provocation of the Muslims, the staging of acts of violence and the fall of innocent victims. In other words, many had nothing to do with the action in order to be held accountable for it. The biggest proof for that was the killing of children at the hands of an American soldier. When violent reaction is the only one expected, the responsibility for this violence falls on the person who committed the initial act and not the one who reacted. We have all seen the reactions to Selman Rushdie and his book Satanic Verses, to the cartoons which were offensive to the Prophet, to a French sarcastic magazine and to a foolish pastor in Florida who wanted to burn the Koran. I am opposed to all violent reactions. I also insist that the issue should be left up to the judiciary and the law in the country in which the crime or the felony were committed. However, I know that the reaction to the offenses against Islam and its Prophet will be violent, which is why I condemn the seekers of fame who risk the lives of the innocent to appear on television or see a few lines written about them in the newspapers. I also condemn Israel's lobby and its supporters among American neoconservatives and Likud members, who - instead of calling for the sanctioning of those who caused the death of American soldiers and the injuring of others - attacked President Barack Obama for apologizing for the killing of the Afghan civilians, just as he apologized for the burning of the Koran while promising to sanction the perpetrators. I read on one of the most pro-Likud websites by one of its most dreadful writers an article headlined The Price of a Koran, in which he condemned the killing of the six American soldiers and placed the responsibility on the Afghans although I place it on those who burned the Koran before any other side. Believe it or not, I read that Obama's apology meant he intended to implement the Sharia against the burners of the Koran. Naturally, he did not say anything of the sort, but this apology constituted an opportunity for the enemies of humanity to fuel the sensitivities against Muslims. When Obama spoke about the sanctioning of those responsible, he was not saying they were responsible for the burning of the Koran or that he was going to impose the Sharia rulings against American soldiers. He was saying that the soldiers who burned the Koran caused the killing of other American soldiers and should be held accountable for that crime. Yet, I read an article by Israel's gang headlined Obama: Sharia Enforcer. This happened at a time when the American investigators themselves said that five American soldiers set a pile of copies of the Koran on fire. I feel that the old and renewed campaign on Islam and Muslims conceals fear over the victory of the Islamists in the elections in Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Kuwait and tomorrow in Libya among others. Indeed, there is particular fear vis-à-vis the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt that would have earned my vote had I been Egyptian as long as it is not recognizing Israel. However, Israel's gang is not trying to contain the anger of the Muslims, rather using each opportunity - such as the burning of the Korans in Afghanistan - to escalate the offense, and consequently the hostility. The gang of evil is following all the details of Arab political action, especially in Egypt. It thus found something to criticize in the statements of Sheikh of Al-Azhar Dr. Ahmad al-Tayyib, in which he said that politics were not enough and that belief in Allah should be the basis. I say: had Hosni Mubarak not done anything during his last years in power except for the appointment of Dr. Al-Tayyib as the Sheikh of Al-Azhar after he was Egypt's Mufti and the head of the Al-Azhar University, this would have been enough. The candidates to the Egyptian presidential elections are in disagreement over everything and in agreement in the face of Israel. Some even rendered the annulment of the peace agreement part of their electoral campaign, namely Nasseri candidate Hamdin Sabahi. They would not have done so had they not been aware of the extent of the Egyptian street's hostility toward the occupation, its crimes and the threatening of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. What the enemies of Islam and Muslims are discovering day after day, is that the Arab spring has introduced their enemies via uncontested democratic means, and that the latter enemies will increase whenever cartoons that are offensive to the Prophet are published, the Koran is burned and Muslim civilians are intentionally killed. The violent response will be inevitable and justified. For its part, Israel is currently living in the extra time, and if it does not change, a day will come when terrorism using Weapons of Mass Destruction will hit the Israeli murderers and their future Palestinian victims among others.
