The U.S Media focuses on Arab and Muslim issues night and day; while some of this media is more pro-Israeli than Israel itself, some is objective, humane and fair, and defends our rights in a manner that we ourselves fall short of. I would not be revealing any secrets when I say that Israel is at the heart of the problem. Although there are liberal, credible and influential outlets such as the New York Times and the Washington Post, the fact that they are owned by Jews means that the publishers probably do not want to believe that Israel is a fascist murderous and atrocious occupation state. This also means that these publications will often lend their pages in the op-ed section to extremist Likudnik writers, and hence, these newspapers are liberal in everything save for when it comes to Israel. Despite the foregoing, the New York Times and the Washington Post are still among the best English language newspapers that I read every day. I will continue with examples from the best and the worst. There is an anti-war website (there is one like it in Britain) edited by Justin Raimondo, who writes about Israeli occupation and crimes against Palestinians in a manner that Arabs themselves fall short of. Most importantly, the writers [on this website] reveal titbits on the Israeli influence on U.S policies, to the extent that I often am surprised by news and information that I have not come across through any other source. Perhaps one example in this regard will spare me the need to further elaborate: two days ago, Philip Giraldi wrote about Lani Kass. Has the reader ever heard of these two names before? Giraldi frequently writes against the war. He is a former officer in the U.S intelligence service, and for this reason, he is well informed on his subjects and possesses inside information on many events and incidents. As for Kass, I had not heard about her before, but I learned from an article written by Giraldi that she is a senior special assistant to the Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force General Norton Schwartz, and that she was born, raised, and educated in Israel and then served in the Israeli army (the immoral war criminals army as I would call it) where she reached the rank of major. She has a PhD in Russian studies and is an advisor to Air Force Generals on cyber counter-terrorism. Giraldi says that she speaks often about life in Israel while parroting naive views of the nature of the ‘Islamic threat' that might have very well been written by Tel Aviv's Foreign Ministry for her. I also learned from the article that this woman's real name is Ilana Dimant. She is married to Norman Kass, a former Pentagon Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence, and they have three children who were all born in Israel. Cass holds U.S citizenship, in addition to her Israeli passport. She is in a position that allows her to have access to the most sensitive U.S military secrets, and also to influence the U.S security policies. In truth, Giraldi's article is full of accurate and intriguing information. I wonder here, how did a right-wing Israeli manage to infiltrate highly sensitive American military positions? What would have happened if an American Muslim had attained such posts instead? The whole issue reminded me of the Israeli woman Meyrav Wurmser and her husband David. She was born in Israel and her husband was born in Switzerland. She came to the United States and cofounded together with Yigal Carmon - a former Israeli army colonel- the MEMRI translation house, which would subsequently record even what a Mosque preacher in the Empty Quarter would say, and then present it to U.S officials such as congressmen as though it is the official stance of Saudi Arabia and all Arabs and Muslims. Of course, MEMRI never translates the extremist views of Orthodox rabbis and their racism. Moreover, Meyrav Wurmser was part of the Likudnik Jewish American wing that wrote a famous report for Benjamin Netanyahu in 1996, i.e. in the beginning of his first term, advising him to abandon the land for peace policy, or in other words, to steal the remainder of Palestinian lands, which is exactly what the Netanyahu government is doing now. It is enough proof that Richard Perle and Douglas Faith, along with David Wurmser, all signed the 1996 report for the reader to understand the kind of political extremism that brings these individuals together. I may add here Rahm Emanuel, who served in the Israeli army and who is now the White House Chief of staff in the Obama administration, and also the son of Ethan Bronner, the New York Times reporter in Israel, who enlisted in the Israeli army. However, Bronner is objective and I will not blame him for his son's sins. Compare all the above with Dalia Mogahed, President Obama's advisor in the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. Dalia was born in Cairo, and moved to the United States when she was four, without ever serving in an occupation army or intelligence service. She stood out thanks to her work as the Executive Director of the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies, and has worked on reconciliation among religions ever since she became intellectually and humanly conscious. But Dalia was the subject of a fierce and mean campaign by the Israeli gang of evil in the U.S media, which defended the spies and the continued killing and fighting between Israel and the Palestinians. This effectively renders the gang complicit with the likes of Netanyahu in murdering women and children. There also are other examples which I will discuss tomorrow. [email protected]
