Ayoon Wa Azan (The End of Israeli Racism Is Inevitable)
Published in AL HAYAT on 04 - 03 - 2010

Many world class universities in 40 countries around the world are marking the Israel Apartheid Week (Racial Segregation), a series of events that includes lectures, documentary films, demonstrations and meetings with the media.
Moreover, 500 artists from Montreal from the TADAMON group declared their solidarity with the Palestinian people in its struggle against Israeli racism, and their support for the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaign against the Israeli apartheid.
I also received their statement about the Nakba [catastrophe], occupation, the theft of Palestinian homes and the violation of international law, which was worded in a similar tone to the one we [Arabs] use against Israel. Nevertheless, the majority of the signatures belonged to clearly Western names and included a number of Jews as well.
No one attacks Israel and its fascist government with such a tone and diligence as I do, with the result being that there are tens of thousands of Likudnik messages against me on the web. This is despite the fact that I always make references to the work of Jewish humanitarian activists and Israeli groups that defend the rights of Palestinians. I want to tell the reader here that the Israeli Apartheid Week will be inaugurated by three lecturers who happen to be all Israelis, and are: the economist Shir Hever, anthropologist Jeff Halper and filmmaker Shai Carmeli-Pollak who produced the documentary "Bil'in Habibti". One can easily have a peace treaty, even tomorrow, with such peace seeking Jews, without any murder or destruction.
I add to these individuals the Christian churches, especially American Churches, such as the Methodist and Presbyterian Churches and others. In truth, these churches responded to the pro-Israeli Christian Zionists, who made up the majority of George W. Bush's constituency, by supporting the Palestinians and their rights, with each sect calling on its members to divest from Israel and boycott its goods. Recently, the World Council of Churches in Geneva, a congregation of one hundred churches, announced a similar campaign against Israel.
Meanwhile, I ask the reader to forget the French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner, as he is an old Zionist, and recall that the Foreign Ministers of some Scandinavian countries are such staunch supporters of Palestine, that some Israeli commentators go as far as attacking them as though they were members in Hamas.
In truth, Israel has succeeded South Africa as a racist apartheid state, but its end will be similar to the end of the White South African apartheid, regardless of its military strength.
When Israeli peace activists meet with Canadian artists, and Christian clerics from around the world (Rev. Desmond Tutu accused Israel of enforcing apartheid against the Palestinians in the clearest possible terms), the question no longer is whether Israel racism will collapse, but when.
However, the extremist fascist supporters of Israel will resist this until the last moment, and lie to God and all his creation: those who invented a fake history and kingdoms will not fear a peace activist, or an artist or a reverend, or even a Swedish minister.
My last example of these extremists today is Martin Kramer, a fellow at Harvard's National Security Studies Program. He called for solving the Palestinian refugee problem by stopping aid to Palestinians refugees in order to prompt them to stop procreating. Perhaps Kramer will also give another lecture advocating the use of medicine (sterilizing and neutering) to prevent procreation among Palestinians, like Hitler once wanted to do with the Jews, Roma and other groups.
Today, there is a gang ruling Israel made up of the Likud, Shas and Yisrael Beiteinu, much to the shame of Jews around the world, as it combines political and religious extremists under one roof. It is enough to cite in this vein the Mossad chief Meir Dagan, the Israeli Man of the Year in 2008 who took part along with Ariel Sharon in the murder of Palestinians with his bare hands in the southern Strip (Gaza) in the seventies, and who used to decapitate prisoners with a Japanese knife- according to Sharon himself.
This man and his ilk are a disgrace to humanity, and not Israel alone. He is the mastermind of the assassination of the Hamas leader Mahmoud Mabhouh, which led to international uproar to which the Likudnik responded by writing articles justifying the murder (I have them all saved), because, according to them, these individuals are possible murders and terrorists awaiting their chance. Each day, I read articles written by them in which they accuse Mabhouh and others of terrorism, although it is Israel that is both the mother and father of all terrorism, and each Prime Minister that led Israel was a terrorist, as is each occupation soldier who murders women and children. Then they have the audacity to speak about the children of Sderot (an article that I also have with me). True, I am against all attacks on civilians; however, in return for the two Israeli killed by the futile rockets in ten years, Israel killed more than 1400 Palestinians in its war on Gaza in less than a month, including around 450 women and children, while 13 Israelis were killed in that war, in one to one thousand deaths ratio. This is a ratio that not even Hitler dreamt of perpetrating (my numbers as always are from B'Tselem, the Israeli Centre for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories.)
The end of Israeli racism is inevitable; however, I fear that the Likudnik resistance might delay its onset, and that a terrorist attack with weapons of mass destruction will take place; the entire Middle East would then face a Masada, another myth like their prophets and kingdoms.
