The Faculty of Medicine of King Abdulaziz University (KAU) announced that the Faculty has met academic accreditation standards of U.S. Advisory Board for Medical Education and Canadian Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). The Faculty's Dean Dr. Mahmoud Shaheen Al-Ahwal disclosed that a team of experts from the two boards headed by Professor Frank Simon has recently conducted a comprehensive field assessment of the Faculty founded in 1975 and submitted a report to the University's President Dr Osama Bin Sadiq Tayeb, in which they agreed that the Faculty is considered as the first one at the level of medical faculties in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East that has met the academic accreditation standards of the U.S. board and the Canadian Committee.
