Bayern Munich's new coach Jupp Heynckes will have 60 million euros (85.3m US dollars) to spend on talent before the new season starts, it was reported on Thursday. Heynckes, 65, will have the resources to strengthen his squad to bring some silverware to the Bavarian giants next season, according to German daily Bild. "We will spend what we have to. Whatever is needed will be available," Bayern president Uli Hoeness told Bild. With current coach Louis van Gaal's contract to be terminated at the end of the season, Bayern are facing a season without titles as they are out of both the Champions League and German Cup. The Bavarian giants are also fourth in the Bundesliga and 14 points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund. Having already coached Bayern twice, Heynckes will leave Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season for his third stint in Munich. His most pressing concern is to strengthen the defence, especially at left-back. Both Benfica's Portugal star Fabio Coentrao and Ajax's Dutch international Gregory van der Wiel, who could slot in at left-back, have been linked to the Munich club. Premier League stars Jerome Boateng, 22, of Manchester City and Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov, 30, are other names tipped to join Bayern this summer. And Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, 25, is reported to be set to leave Champions League quarter-finalists Schalke 04 for Bayern once the season is over.
