The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance has named the members of the Selection Committee for the 31st session of King Abdulaziz international contest for the Holy Quran memorization, intonation and interpretation due to start its deliberations in Makkah effective from October 5, 2009. The Selection Committee comprises six members from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other Arab and Muslim countries. As many as 174 Muslim Youth competitors will participate in the contest from 115 countries and 59 societies and Islamic centers around the world. The organization of the contest aims at encouraging the youth to give more attention to the Holy Quran. An amount of SR 888,000 have been allocated for the first five winners for each category of the contest.
