Ahmad Abdullah Saudi Gazette JEDDAH – Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah Region, inaugurated the Khair Makkah charity project on Tuesday evening in the presence of Prince Sultan Bin Salman, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association for Children with Disabilities and Yusuf Al-Othaimeen Minister of Social Affairs. Prince Khaled announced the launch of the project and was briefed on the details of the first phase which consists of six residential buildings in Makkah's Alnaseem neighborhood. The buildings will be devoted to endowment investments. Prince Khaled said it was a great honor for him to inaugurate such a noble project and urged philanthropists to contribute. “I urge our brothers who feel the need of our needy compatriots to not waste time and contribute to such projects which a large segment of our brothers will benefit from. Allah will reward them for their benevolent acts.” Quoting a Hadith, he said, “When a human being dies, all the deeds are terminated except for three types: An ongoing Saddaqah (endowment), knowledge which others benefit from and a righteous child who makes supplication ‘Dua'a' for his dead parents.” Prince Khaled said endowment projects, if implemented according to Islamic jurisprudence, help advance Islamic causes. “If we abide by the endowment and Zakat, there will no single poor or needy person in the Islamic world.”
