A source close to Amr Diab dispelled rumors that have been circulating on the Internet claiming that the Egyptian superstar singer will resign following his mother's death and in protest at the Salafis taking control of Egypt. A web site posted a long interview allegedly with Diab. The singer was furious when he heard the rumors because he is still grieving over the death of his mother, with whom he had a strong bond.
