[gallery size="medium" td_select_gallery_slide="slide" td_gallery_title_input="King wraps up UAE tour with visit to Dubai's historical area" ids="103776,103868,103869,103867,103866"] Dubai — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman on Monday sent a cable of thanks to Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, following his two-day visit to UAE. In his cable, the King said, "We express our best thanks and appreciation for the warm reception and generous hospitality accorded to us and the accompanying delegation during our visit which has given us the opportunity to discuss ways to strengthen our brotherly relations in all fields to serve our common interest and achieve the aspirations of our people." Earlier, the King visited Al-Shindagha historical area in Dubai. The King was received by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President of the United Arab Emirates, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. The King visited the historical Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum House, which is one of the oldest buildings in Dubai. Built by Sheikh Saeed's father in 1896, the house displays a fascinating collection of stamps, coins, and photographs of Dubai throughout the 20th century. The King was greeted by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and a number of senior officials. King Salman also visited Saruq Al-Hadeed (the Way of Iron) Museum and saw its artifacts and heritage pieces. Housed in a historic building in the Shindagha Heritage District of Dubai, the museum tells the story of one of the most exciting and mysterious archaeological sites yet discovered in the Emirate. It was built in 1928 and was once owned by Sheikh Juma Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum.
